using our imaginations for healing and protection
on transforming limited thoughts into liberated beliefs
one thing i’ve learned this year is that staying connected to my joy and passion is absolutely vital for my wellbeing.
no matter how dark the circumstances are, i must always prioritize finding my joy. this is how i connect to my life force and my purpose here.
a large part of connecting with my joy, is addressing what thoughts are limiting me, or stopping me from connecting with ease.
here are 3 steps I use to transform my limiting thoughts…
I ask my body a few questions about how I’m feeling.
how are these thoughts making me feel? does this feeling have something i can build on? is this feeling empowering?
if no, then i drop it.
I transform my thoughts.
I write down my limited beliefs. this part is kind of hard, because accepting that these thoughts actually run through my mind is scary.
for example:
i am bad with money
i am a terrible person
i am a terrible partner
i ask myself, where is this stemming from? what voice is telling me this?
I then write the exact opposite down aka where the transformation happens:
i am excellent with money
my parents are so lucky to have me in their lives
i am an amazing partner
i also like to add a little humor from time to time because laughter is magical.
finally, I protect my new thoughts and invite my fantastical imagination to take the lead (this includes animals, fairies, dragons etc.)
sometimes i’m scared that i can’t trust myself in upholding the new beliefs i have. maintaining confidence is something i struggle with, but I refuse to give up.
this is why I feel that protecting our thoughts through fantasy is important.
i really dig deep into my imagination knowing that i can depend on it whenever l truly need help.
recently i’ve asked for my dreams to show me my protectors. right now they seem to be in the form of an owl. my owl protector is blue, purple and can transform from an adult owl into a baby owl.
i’ve been meditating with this idea, asking the owl to keep watch and help me clear any ideas or negative thought patterns that don’t feed my empowerment or confidence.
my owl protector keeps watch and helps me feel safe.
my ultimate hope in this world is to encourage anyone, including myself, to move towards their life purpose. it’s so easy to get distracted, it’s really up to us to stay in alignment with who we truly are and what we love.
there is no right or wrong way of doing this, but staying empowered while we move through the challenges is key.
if you try out this, or have a method that you like that’s similar, i’d to love hear. this is has truly helped me and i hope it does the same for you. I’m also curious about whether this would be a nice group activity to try and uplift one another and transform our thoughts together.
here are some journal prompts that I hope inspire you or loved ones:
what does it feel like to operate from a liberated belief system?
how does your imagination already protect you?
what does it feel like to be under this protection?
leaning into our creativity to uplift our well beings is absolutely necessary.
we must not give up on ourselves.
I’m signing off with immense love and maybe my last newsletter of 2022.
stay blessed, warm and in joy.
